Pumpkin-Shaped Strawberry Hand Pies with Tiptree Strawberry Preserves

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 18–20 minutes
Servings: 8 hand pies

Ingredients

  • 2 store-bought pie crusts (or homemade, chilled)

  • ½ cup Tiptree Strawberry Preserve

  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)

  • 1 tbsp milk

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cut the Dough

Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a pumpkin-shaped cookie cutter (about 3–4 inches wide) to cut out pairs of pumpkins. Gather and re-roll scraps if needed.

3. Fill with Jam

Place half of the pumpkin cutouts on the baking sheet. Spoon about 1–1½ teaspoons of Tiptree Strawberry Preserve into the center of each, leaving a small border.

4. Seal the Pies

Top with the remaining pumpkin cutouts. Use a fork to crimp the edges, sealing the pies. Cut small slits or a little “jack-o’-lantern face” in the tops for venting.

5. Brush & Bake

Whisk together the egg and milk. Brush over the tops of the pies and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
Bake for 18–20 minutes, until golden brown.

6. Cool & Serve

Let the pies cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature—perfect with tea or as a Halloween party treat!

These little hand pies are flaky, festive, and filled with the sweet burst of Tiptree Strawberry Preserve. A fun Halloween baking project for kids and adults alike!
