Tiptree Rugelach
Flaky, buttery pastries rolled with Tiptree preserves, nuts, and cinnamon, perfect for teatime or gifting!
Ingredients
Dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
8 oz cream cheese, cold and cubed
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
Filling:
½ cup of any Tiptree preserve
½ cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Topping:
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Make the Dough:
In a food processor or bowl, blend flour and salt. Add cold butter and cream cheese. Mix until crumbly. Add vanilla. Form into 2 discs, wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
2. Prepare the Filling:
In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Set aside chopped nuts and jam.
3. Roll and Fill:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll one disc into a 10-inch circle. Spread a thin layer of Tiptree preserve, sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon sugar.
4. Slice and Roll:
Cut into 12 wedges. Roll each wedge from the wide end to the point to form a crescent. Place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
5. Finish and Bake:
Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
Tips:
These freeze beautifully, bake ahead and store!
Mix preserve flavors for variety in one batch.
