This savory and slightly sweet stuffing combines the earthy flavor of toasted walnuts with the delicate sweetness of Tiptree Green Fig Preserve. It’s the perfect balance of texture and flavor for your holiday table.

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups cubed day-old bread (sourdough or country loaf works well)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts, toasted
  • ¼ cup Tiptree Green Fig Preserve
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1¾ cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the vegetables: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook for 5–6 minutes, until softened. Remove from heat.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add cubed bread, toasted walnuts, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the flavor: Spoon in the Tiptree Green Fig Preserve and toss lightly to evenly distribute the sweetness.
  5. Add moisture: Pour the cooked onion and celery mixture over the bread, then drizzle with broth and the beaten egg. Gently toss until evenly coated but not soggy.
  6. Bake: Transfer to the prepared dish and bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and crisp while the inside remains soft.

Serve warm alongside roasted turkey or chicken — it’s a festive twist on a classic holiday side.
